Learn more about planned Red Line updates Sept. 9 at 12 – 1 p.m. Join the Project Connect team for a virtual briefing as we share details on the proposed connectivity and design improvements for the existing Red Line service. Updates include progress on the upcoming Broadmoor and McKalla Stations as well as double-tracking, which increases train capacity and safety, between Lakeline and Leander. Learn More about MetroRapid at the Sept. 9 Community Update 

Join us Sept. 9 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. for a discussion focused on Project Connect’s MetroRapid service. Your feedback will help with the design and planning of the new bus stations and our transition to an all-electric fleet. The meeting will include updates on the Expo Line, Pleasant Valley Line, Burnet to Menchaca and Oak Hill Line and Gold Line. Register here for the live community update.

New Pickup Zone Launched Aug. 24 

Have you heard about CapMetro’s growing number of Pickup zones? CapMetro launched a new zone for Pickup in North Oak Hill on Aug. 24. Pickup brings on-demand public transportation to 11 zones in the greater Austin area. This accessible service picks customers up from their location within 15 minutes or less.

Pickup North Oak Hill Service Zone 

The new North Oak Hill Pickup service can help customers get to key North Oak Hill locations, such as HEB, Oak Hill Elementary, Live Oak Trails Apartments, YMCA and more. Service in the Pickup North Oak Hill zone is available weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CapMetro has also reintroduced Saturday Pickup service to East ATX and Northeast ATX. New Saturday services include Walnut Creek, Leander and Dessau from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. For more info on Pickup by CapMetro, please visit

CapMetro #StuffTheBus and August Service Changes 

School is back in session, and CapMetro is ready to help! CapMetro worked alongside H-E-B and assisted in distributing school supply donations at the For The Children school supply drive. For The Children uses 100% of all donations raised to purchase new school supplies for over 56,000 students in the Austin Independent School District. If you want to chip in, donations are still accepted online at

CapMetro and H-E-B helped #StuffTheBus with school supplies for AISD 

With the return to in-person attendance this fall, students, teachers and staff will be able to catch these bus routes to school: MetroBus 4 – 7th StreetMetroBus 217 – Montopolis FeederMetroBus 333 – William Cannon and MetroBus 337 – Koenig/Colony Park.  

CapMetro has also reintroduced additional services including Late-Night service and MetroExpress 980 North MoPac Express.
